Slack: the daily schedule in a channel
Have Teamlead post today's schedule in a Slack channel every morning, with the working hours and skills of each employee.
With the Slack connection, your team can see in Slack who is working today. Every morning, Teamlead posts the location's schedule in the channel you choose.
How to do it
- Create an incoming webhook for the channel in Slack, or ask your Slack administrator to do this. Copy the URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
- In Teamlead, go to Settings > Connections and click Slack.
- Paste the URL into the Webhook URL field.
- Click Create.
What the message looks like
One line per scheduled employee, with name, working hours and skills. For example:
Name | 08:00 - 16:30 | Phone, Email
Good to know
- Teamlead only sends today's schedule. You do not get separate notifications in Slack for schedule changes.
- On a day without a schedule, Teamlead sends nothing.
- You create one Slack connection per location. Do you want to share the schedule of more locations? Then select each location and create a connection for each one.
- Treat the webhook URL like a password: anyone who has it can post messages in your channel.
Not working?
- Nothing arriving in Slack? Check that the webhook still exists in Slack and that the URL is correct. Teamlead does not notify you if the webhook stops working.
- Is nobody scheduled for today? Then no message is sent either.
