Why does a day of leave count an extra half hour?
Does a day of leave count as 8.5 hours instead of 8? Then the break is being counted as working time. Mark the break skill as unpaid.
Teamlead calculates leave hours from the schedule. With Go to scheduling, the leave fills the entire work time of that day, for example 8:30 to 17:00, so including the break.
How to fix it
- Go to Skills and open your break skill (type Break).
- Switch on Unpaid break and click Save. In the statistics, a day of leave then counts as 8 hours.
- Do you work with leave balances? In the Adjust leave balance step, Teamlead suggests the scheduled leave hours. Adjust the number of hours there if needed.
Good to know
- In the week overview, a full day of leave still counts as 8.5 hours, because the leave replaces the break in the schedule.
- On normal working days, with an unpaid break the scheduled hours and the clock icon next to a name are also correct.
- The work times on a profile are a window (for example 8.5 hours), not net contract hours.
- Do you use AFAS? Then AFAS calculates the leave hours itself and the balance in AFAS takes precedence.
