# Who can do what in Teamlead?

## What you see and are allowed to do in Teamlead depends on your employee type per location and on the extra account manager right.

Everyone has an employee type per location (department or branch). On top of that, someone can be an account manager for the whole organisation.

### The roles

| Role | What you see and do |
| --- | --- |
| Employee (type **Regular**) | Your **Dashboard**, your team's **Schedule** (view only), your own **Leave requests** and your own **Schedule changes**. |
| External employee (type **External**) | The same as an employee, plus **Availability** to tell your planner when you can work. |
| Administrator (type **Administrator**) | These are the planners and team leads. Everything for their own location: changing the schedule, reviewing leave, **Staffing**, **Statistics**, **Skills**, **Employees**, **Staffing templates** and, via the gear icon, **Settings** and **Service desk**. |
| Account manager (switch **Administrator**) | Extra right for the whole organisation: creating accounts and inviting people via **Account management**, importing employees and deactivating or deleting accounts. |

### Good to know

- Your type applies per location. You can be an administrator at one location and an employee at another. What you see belongs to the location selected in the location drop-down list at the top right.
- Some parts are only visible if your organisation has switched them on, such as **Leave requests**, **Availability**, **Leave balances** and **Adherence**.
- **Leave balances** can also appear in the menu for employees. The page is only for administrators; as an employee you are taken back to the **Dashboard**.
- A planner or team lead does not have a separate role. Both are administrators.
- Only an account manager can change your role: gear icon \> **Account management** \> the account \> **Employee type** per location, or the **Administrator** switch.
- **Account management** is in the gear menu. You only see that menu if you are an administrator at the selected location.
- If you open a page via a link that you do not have rights for, you are taken back to the **Dashboard**.

### What Teamlead arranges for your organisation

Some things nobody in your organisation can set up themselves. For these, email support@teamlead.io:

- adding or changing locations;
- setting up single sign-on (SSO);
- switching parts such as leave requests, leave balances and external employees on or off.
